WORLD OF OUTLAWS TO OPEN 2019 SEASON
Haubstadt, IN – April 29, 2019 – The World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Cars will be making their highly anticipated annual appearance at the Tri-State Speedway on Saturday evening May 4th. This event will be the first race to be held at the quarter mile track in 2019. The complete Tri-State Speedway season schedule will once again provide a dozen varied special events.
The excitement begins at the Haubstadt oval with qualifications set to begin at 6:30 P.M. C.D.T. Kyle Larson set fast time last May with a lap of 11.935 seconds. The existing track record is held by Sammy Swindell at 11.11 seconds. Forty three sprint car drivers were present to attempt qualifications last year. Racing begins at 7:30 P.M.
World of Outlaws features at Haubstadt have produced victories for 16 different drivers. The most recent winners include David Gravel with wins in 2018 and 2016, Parker Price-Miller in 2017, and Paul McMahon with two wins in a row in 2014 and 2015.
The Outlaws will be towing North to Haubstadt on the second day of a weekend swing that will have begun Friday night in West Memphis, Arkansas. The race at Tri-State Speedway is the first of three appearances the World of Outlaws will make at tracks in the Hoosier state in 2019. The tour will encompass over 90 appearances coast to coast across some 25 states. This is a great opportunity for race fans across the tri-state area to watch the “Fastest Show on Dirt!”� The event is sponsored by Patriot Chevy-Buick-GMC and J. Wilderman Autoplex.
The UMP Open Wheel Modifieds will also be racing on May 4th. The modified class feature that night will pay $1,000 to win. Expect a contingent of capable challengers along with the usual stronghold of regulars drivers.
Adult general admission for this special event is $30 for adults. A ticket for children ages 6-12 will cost $15. Children 5 years old or under will be admitted free. Pit passes are $40 each. Race time is at 7:30 P.M. The track information line is 812-768-5995.
