Posted May 30, 2011
Haubstadt, IN - May 29, 2011. Dave Beck won the UMP Open Wheel Modified feature during that portion of Sunday nights special Memorial Day Classic held at Tri-State Speedway. The Pike County, IN, driver finished ahead of Stan Beadles. It was the first win at Tri-State for Beck this season. And the runner-up honors rated as Beadles best finish at the track this season. The three features held thus far this season have produced 3 different winners.
Bryce Jewell, Randle Sweeney, and Bradley Sterrett rounded out the top five for the 25 lap feature. The holiday weekend event attracted the largest modified field of the season. The car count stood at 39 as Sterrett, Levi Kissinger, Beadles, and Josh Lucas finished first in four qualifying heat races.
Tyler Nicely and Trent Young won the two B-Mains needed to establish the 20 car starting field for the feature. The modifieds will appear on the race card again June 4th when the MSCS Sprints and the UMP Mods pair up for another double header of open wheel action at the quarter mile Tri-state Speedway
