TRI-STATE DOUBLES UP ON THE ACTION
RACING BOTH SATURDAY AND SUNDAY ON THE 13th AND 14th

Haubstadt, IN - May 1, 2017.  The battle with Mother Nature the last weekend of April at Tri-State Speedway and other tracks across Indiana was a losing effort.  There were reports of 9 inches or more of rainfall in Gibson County where the speedway is located.  The Haubstadt oval was set to host the World of Outlaws but the race could not be held.

However, fans will be relieved to know that this race will happen. It was rescheduled!  It will now be held two weeks later on Sunday May 14th.  The entire program will get underway with times reset for an hour earlier than usual!  This is in consideration of work week and school responsibilities waiting everyone on Monday.

Tri-State Speedway had a MSCS race already scheduled for Saturday the 13th.  That show which is billed as “ Midwest Madness” combines appearances by the MSCS and MOWA series.  The MSCS feature will pay $2,500 to win.  The MOWA feature will pay $2,000 to win.  MSCS races as a non-wing series and MOWA races with wings.  That program on Saturday will now also start an hour earlier than typically.

With the World of Outlaws appearing at Tri-State Speedway the very next day, these programs offer winged sprint car competitors two days of racing at the same location.  That possibility could increase the size of the field both nights!  Sunday’s new date will also serve as a Mini Sprint Invitational with that class racing as the second division.

MMSA will be in charge of the mini sprint portion of the program.  The show will not be a series points race but an invitational event with a special format designed to present the top Lightning Sprint Car teams.
More information can be found on the MMSA website or face book page.

It has been years, perhaps decades, since Tri-State Speedway has offered back to back race dates on the same weekend.  This rates as a first time opportunity for many Tri-State race fans to see the best of the different worlds of sprint car racing in such a concise period of time.  In all there will be four different sprint car groups represented.  Add in a very well prepared racing surface.  It is double the action and a weekend to remember.  “Midwest Madness” may just take on a whole new meaning!

Each day the speedway will offer completely separate racing programs! Pits will open at 2 P.M. Central Time.  The grandstands will open at 3:30 in the afternoon both days.  Warm Ups will get underway at 5 o’clock.  Racing begins at 6:30!
