Tri-State Speedway News & Publicity

Posted January 13, 2017

Haubstadt, IN - January 13, 2017.  Tri-State Speedway at Haubstadt,
IN, will open the gates for the 2017 racing season Saturday April
15th.  The sprint cars of the United States Auto Club and those
competing with the Midwest Sprint Car Series will be competing in the
co-sanctioned “Spring Showdown” paying $5,000 to win.  The opener
will also feature the first of 11 appearances during the season for
the UMP Open Wheel Modifieds.

The action will resume on April 29th with the only appearance for
the World of Outlaws.  These winged sprint cars are the fastest in
the nation.  They will turn laps at the quarter mile Haubstadt track
in the 12 second range.  The MOWA Winged Sprints will be in action
at Tri-State two weeks later as they share the card with the MSCS
Sprints to create Tri-State‘s version of “Midwest Madness.”.

Then it will be time for the “Memorial Weekend Classic.”  The first
triple header of the season will include MSCS Sprints, MMSA Mini
Sprints, and the UMP Modifieds.  This show on May 28th will be the
first Sunday night program of the season.  On June 10th the MSCS
Sprints and Modifieds will pair up for the “Summer Showdown.”

The modifieds will be running for a grand to win 5 times during the
season.  Those special nights are April 29th, June 10th, June 25th,
July 15th, and Sept. 3rd.  Then for the final race of the season on
October 7th the Mods will compete with $1,500 on the line!

The UMP “Late Model Summernationals” is set for Sunday June 25th.
Once again the Summit Modifieds will be on that same card.  It is the
only opportunity fans will have to see the late models at Haubstadt
this coming season.

Another holiday spectacular is in the offering Sunday July 2nd.  The
“Sprint Stampede” will thunder forth with MSCS and MOWA Sprints plus the
roaring modifieds.  July 15th the track will host the finale of USAC’s
“Indiana Sprint Week.”  This is one difficult act to follow, but on
August 5th MSCS will sanction the 13th annual “Hoosier Sprint
Nationals.”  The winner will collect $5,000.  MMSA and the UMP Mods join
the action.

The final holiday special will be the “Labor Day Weekend Challenge”
for MSCS Sprints and Mods on Sunday September 3rd.  Mark the calendar!
September 16th is the biggest race of the season for non-wing sprint
competitors.  USAC & MSCS will take up the challenge presented by the
one and only “Haubstadt Hustler.”  The prize is $10,000.

All great things find their summit.  On October 7th the “Harvest Cup”
will close out the season for the MSCS sprints.  This will be their
ninth appearance at Haubstadt. The winner’s share for the Cup will be
$5,000 in 2017.  It is also Awards night for the series.  And it is a
triple header program with the mods and mini sprints also present.
