World of Outlaws Sprints to Appear at Tri-State Opener

Haubstadt, IN - April 13. The World of Outlaws Sprint Cars will be
appearing at Tri-State Speedway on Saturday night April 21st. The
race will be the season opener at the quarter mile dirt oval. The
World of Outlaw Sprints rate as the fastest racing machines that will
test the high banks this season. Qualifying will begin at 6:30 P.M.
C.D.T. Joey Saldana set quick time last season with a 12.101 lap.
Joey Saldana is one of several top Hoosier drivers that compete with
the Outlaws in their travels across the country. Saldana has been
very effective at Tri-State Speedway having finished in the top five
in the feature at Haubstadt in each of the past 4 season's events.
Other Hoosier drivers include twenty time World of Outlaw Champion
Steve Kinser and son Kraig Kinser who are in the top ten in 2012
World of Outlaw points.
Drivers will be competing in preliminary races to make the 24 car
starting field for the feature. The ensuing action has become known
in the racing world as the Greatest Show on Dirt! Racing is set to
get underway at 7:30.
Before the 2012 season concludes the WoO will have had an opportunity
to compete at tracks in at least 22 different states plus Canada.
The April 21st Tri-State appearance is the first of only four World
of Outlaw events to be held in the state of Indiana.
The UMP Dirt Car Modifieds will also be racing on the April 21st
card. Their feature will conclude the double header. The open wheel
modifieds always provide an action packed program with plenty of side
by side racing. Seven different drivers won modified features at the
track in 2011 with no driver winning more than two features. Drivers
with two victories each were Dave Beck, Levi Kissenger, and Brandon
Tickets can still be purchased in advance. The phone number for
ordering tickets is 812-768-6025. Tickets will also be on sale Friday
April 20th at the track from 9 A.M. until 6 P.M.and again at the gate
on Sat. starting at 4:00 P.M. The pit gate opens on race day at 2:30
for competitors. The track is located on U.S. Highway 41 about
15 miles North of Evansville, Indiana.
